Ruth & Sean's Hotel del Coronado wedding had us swooning from the first day we heard the details of what these two lovebirds had planned. We knew immediately that it would be off the charts spectacular when we heard that we would be teaming up with one of our all time favorite people (and amazing coordinator) Susanne Duffy of Crown Weddings & Events. We have been lucky enough to work alongside Susanne now for several years and trust her to no end, not only with our clients but with friends and family because she is the definition of a true professional. She also has a wonderful magic wand that works miracles when needed ;)

This wedding featured so much amazingness that we decided to split it up into two separate posts. Ruth and Sean are the types of people that you just love to love and that really shined through when we met everyone at their wedding. Friends, family members, co-workers, had nothing wonderful stories and memories to share about these two and we feel lucky (and honored) that we were able to be there with them to document this special day in their lives.

Lots more amazing vendors that collaborated on this wedding are listed below including some of our faves, Quixotic Wedding Films and Organic Elements.

Scripps Forum is one of our all time favorite venues to shoot at. With amazingly close beach access and stunning views, beautiful architecture and all the formality of an upscale event yet laid back enough to achieve a beach vibe, it's hard to think of a space that fits our style better. So we know that we are going to fall in love with any couple that has their sights set on Scripps for their wedding. We were introduced to Margaret and Jay via I DO...Weddings and when we started to get filled in on all the details that were going into this wedding day, we were beyond thrilled to actually meet this couple from Texas and their entire 42 person wedding party. Yes, you read that right, FORTY-TWO people in their wedding party. Everything is bigger in Texas and we learned quickly that fun is at the top of that list. What an incredible day!

Sailor superstition tells us that renaming your boat will bring nothing but bad luck and make your boating experience something that you will want to forget. But when we found "the boat" that would eventually become "our boat", we already had a name that we had picked out to honor our two favorite people: Ellie AKA Silly Goose (Goose) and Bailey AKA Bay Man (Bay). Hence the name, Goose Bay. According to legend, every vessel is recorded by name in the Ledger of the Deep and is known personally to Poseidon, or Neptune, the god of the sea. Because we wanted to change the name of our boat from its previous name (Island Spirit), the first thing we had to do is to purge its name from the Ledger of the Deep and from Poseidon’s memory. We did so by ceremonially purging its name. We then went on to renaming it by appeasing the gods of the sea and the wind by pouring a "generous libation" of champagne into a champagne flute and flinging it to the North, South, East and West as we paid homage and respect to each of the gods. Thanks to everyone that came out to help us celebrate this special day in our lives.

Big thanks to Sign Diego signdiego.com for helping us with this amazing vinyl decal for the boat name. Turned out amazing!
